The tutors at Nashville Math Tutoring love math and want to spread this feeling to their students. Our tutors go through a rigorous interview process to ensure they’re great at math, can relate well to students and have a gift for explaining concepts. We feel it’s important for students to feel at-ease during their sessions so that a great interpersonal connection is established. Our carefully-chosen tutors are experienced and range from seniors in top colleges to credentialed teachers. All students learn differently and our tutors understand this. Many families come to us with students who have learning challenges, such as ADHD or anxiety when taking tests. Our Focus
When forming Nashville Math Tutoring, we recognized the need for a tutoring company with tutors that have a love for math and years of experience. Math is the subject students struggle with most, so it’s a need we wished to fill. Our math expertise ranges from Elementary Math to Calculus, and includes science instruction like Physics and AP Chemistry as well. We are happy to be the in-house tutor for several private schools who refer students to us looking for help with their math studies.
Personalized Sessions
The advantage of meeting one-on-one with tutors, whether in-person or online, provides the type of attention and instruction that help set up students for a high level of success in their class. A focus of tutors is to help build confidence in their students, allowing them to realize their full potential. Potential that has always likely been there, but often just needs a bit of encouragement to be realized. During sessions, tutors can often determine areas of weakness and strength, helping them to make great progress. We encourage supplemental problems between sessions based on each session so that students make practice on their own. This type of practice is the best way for students to solidify what they’ve learned.
Progress Leads to Confidence
One of the primary goals of Nashville Math Tutoring is to build confidence in each student. Through working together, students begin to see their true ability and their confidence grows without limit. Many students who initially didn’t enjoy math start finding math to be their favorite subject after a short while! Often, a student has great ability and aptitude, but their confidence needs to be addressed. Our tutors work to instill this in their students. Methods we find work best are making sure that past and present concepts are solid, providing encouragement and finally by recognizing improvement on a regular basis. By helping a student realize their ability, they can sometimes discover new interests academically, which can be a life changer!
